Remote project management and site coordination for energy-efficient residential builds, UK-wide. Passive House-trained oversight of the details that decide whether your build performs — airtightness, thermal bridges, MVHR.
Discuss your projectMost residential builds in the UK are managed on programme and cost. Energy performance — the thing the whole specification was written for — is usually nobody's job on site. Insulation gets cut short around services, airtightness membranes get punctured and patched badly, MVHR ducting gets squashed into voids it was never designed for. The building finishes on time and underperforms for the next sixty years.
APMBuild's project management and site coordination service exists to close that gap. We act as your representative on the build: reviewing drawings and specification before work starts, coordinating trades around the energy-critical sequence, inspecting at the stages where mistakes get buried, and managing testing and handover documentation at the end.
The service runs UK-wide — day-to-day coordination is remote, through our Project Room client portal, with site visits scheduled at the stages where physical inspection matters most.
Drawings and specification reviewed for buildability and energy-performance compliance before work starts — while changes are still cheap.
Scheduled site visits at critical stages: airtightness layer installation, insulation continuity, window fitting, MVHR first fix.
Blower door test management, MVHR commissioning records, photographic site records and a complete performance handover pack.
You designed a low-energy building but don't manage builds. We make sure what you drew is what gets built — U-values, junction details and airtightness targets included.
You've appointed a builder but don't have the time — or the technical background — to check the work that ends up hidden behind plasterboard.
You're taking on your first low-energy or EnerPHit-route job and want Passive House-aware oversight on the details your team hasn't done before.
You're coordinating your own sub-trades and need technical backup: someone to sequence the airtightness works and inspect before each cover-up.
Where your project also needs an energy model, our PHPP pre-assessment service pairs naturally with PM oversight — the model sets the targets, the site coordination makes sure they survive construction. And if your team wants to learn the details rather than just have them checked, see our on-site mentoring for build teams.
Every engagement starts with a scope conversation: what stage the project is at, who is building it, and which parts of the work carry performance risk. From that we agree a defined scope — number of site visits, inspection stages, reporting format — priced on a day-rate or fixed-fee-per-project basis.
Between visits, coordination runs remotely. Site records, stage photographs, decisions and documents live in the Project Room portal, so you can see where things stand without chasing anyone. When something needs a decision, you get the options in writing with our recommendation.
At the end you receive a handover pack: test results, commissioning records, photographic records of the work that is now hidden, and the documentation trail that protects the value of what you've paid for.
Tell us where the project is and who's building it — we'll propose a scope that fits.
Discuss PM EngagementHow APMBuild's UK-wide project management and site coordination works.
APMBuild provides remote project management plus scheduled site visits for residential construction projects across the UK. The scope typically covers pre-start drawing and specification review, programme and trade coordination, quality inspections at critical build stages — airtightness, thermal bridge detailing, MVHR installation — and blower door test management with a full documentation pack at handover.
Yes. Project management and site coordination is a UK-wide service. Day-to-day oversight runs remotely through our Project Room client portal, with site visits scheduled at the build stages where physical inspection matters most. Our own build teams work regionally around Hereford, but PM engagements are not limited to that area.
On a day-rate or fixed-fee-per-project basis, agreed before the engagement starts. A defined scope agreement sets out the number of site visits, the inspection stages covered and the reporting format, so there are no open-ended costs.
Yes — that is the most common engagement. Homeowners, architects and main contractors bring APMBuild in to oversee the energy-performance-critical parts of a build being delivered by others: airtightness strategy, insulation continuity, window installation and MVHR commissioning. We report to you, not to the contractor.
